Old Marylebone Town Hall & The Barns at Redcoats Wedding
Lauren and Josh chose to celebrate their marriage across two very different days, each meaningful in its own way. A quiet legal ceremony in London in the spring, followed by a relaxed and joyful summer celebration in Hertfordshire.
Old Marylebone Town Hall Wedding Photography in London
Their legal ceremony took place in April at Old Marylebone Town Hall. Lauren and Josh booked the You + Two package, which meant I wasn’t present for the ceremony itself, but instead focused on documenting their time together before and after.
We began at The Landmark Hotel, where they met with their parents, their daughter, and Josh’s brother. The atmosphere was calm and unhurried, a lovely contrast to the busy streets outside. From there, we walked the short distance to Old Marylebone Town Hall before heading on to a nearby pub for a relaxed lunch with family.
This part of the day was simple and unfussy. No rushing, no formalities, just time together. It felt like a quiet pause before the bigger celebration to come!
A Summer Celebration at The Barns at Redcoats
In August, Lauren and Josh gathered their friends and family for a full wedding celebration at The Barns at Redcoats. The weather could not have been better. Warm sunshine, blue skies, and a relaxed pace set the tone for the day.
Their outdoor ceremony was full of personal touches, including a moment that caught everyone by surprise. Lauren and Josh hid their wedding rings under the bride’s grandad’s chair and invited guests to check beneath their seats during the ceremony. The look on his face when he realised he was the ring bearer was incredibly special and a moment the whole family will remember.
Their daughter, still very young, made her way down the aisle with Lauren’s dad, a quiet yet meaningful moment that beautifully kick-started their Ceremony.
After the “I Do’s”, guests enjoyed drinks on the lawn, portraits in the sunshine, and an ice cream van that quickly became a highlight of the afternoon. Before dinner, everyone was invited to join in a sing-along, following the newlyweds’ entrance to their wedding breakfast, which had everyone smiling and swaying, and fully set the tone for the rest of the evening.
Two Days, One Story
Lauren and Josh’s wedding wasn’t about tradition for tradition’s sake. It was about doing things in a way that felt right for them. From their intimate London ceremony to their warm and welcoming summer celebration, both days reflected the same thing. A couple who value family, connection, and ease.
It was a pleasure to document both chapters of their story and the lovely Lauren later had this to say…
“Lori photographed our legal ceremony and our wedding celebration earlier this year and she has done an absolutely outstanding job. She got to know us, what we liked and what we didn’t. We felt so comfortable with Lori and were so happy with both wedding albums we’ve got from our special days.
Lori become a great support throughout the day, she knows the best shots to take and takes away any stress by just being so organised. She was always so prompt with any communication before the big day and we knew exactly where we needed to be and when. As I said, she makes the day more enjoyable by helping you to be in the right place at the right time, but in a really nice, calm way.
I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Lori to anyone I know who is looking for a wedding photographer. She’s an expert in her field who also happens to be a really lovely person! Thank you for capturing THE best day. We will always have these fantastic memories to look back on.”
