Photographing Chan & Daryl’s wedding at LIMEKILN felt genuinely exciting.
As a relatively new venue, it’s rare to see a space so confident from the outset. I was there for just their second ever wedding, and it was clear from the start that this wasn’t a venue finding its feet!
LIMEKILN is the sister venue to the much-loved Kin House in Wiltshire, and it shows. The owners clearly knew what they were doing when they set out to create a new wedding venue in East Sussex. The same attention to detail and confident, chic design runs through the space, but with its own distinct personality.
From the flow of the rooms to the simple yet stylish decor, LIMEKILN feels like a venue designed by people who truly understand how weddings really work. Every corner has been considered. Every room has character. Even the bathrooms(!!) deserve a mention. They are genuinely some of the most beautiful I’ve seen at any wedding venue.

LIMEKILN is a venue that photographers quietly get very excited about. The décor is modern but warm, stylish without feeling cold, and full of texture and light. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear that this is a place built for hosting people well.
The team were fantastic throughout the day. Calm, organised, and incredibly accommodating, they set the tone for the whole celebration. When a venue team works this seamlessly, it gives couples the space to relax and actually enjoy their wedding day, which always shows in the photographs.

Chan & Daryl’s wedding had a very natural, garden-party feel to it. Nothing felt rushed or overly structured. Guests mingled easily, conversations flowed, and the day unfolded at a comfortable pace.
One of the most special details was something most guests didn’t know at the time. Chan and Daryl were quietly expecting, with only a handful of close family members aware. There was an extra layer of tenderness to the day because of it. A sense of something quietly joyful being held close, which made the celebration feel even more meaningful.
LIMEKILN is/has already made its mark as a wedding venue, and it’s easy to see why! With its beautiful design, an exceptional team, and a considered layout that works perfectly for relaxed, modern celebrations.
Photographing Chan & Daryl’s wedding there so early in the venue’s journey felt like being let in on a secret. One that won’t stay a secret for long!
