The majority of the world’s population now carries a camera around in their pocket every single day. And yet whilst today’s technology allows us all to be photographers in some way, we have come to take this accessibility for granted and what’s often missing is the memory and experience behind the 100+ mobile phone snaps.
Here on Botany Bay, whilst it may have been a tad on the chilly side at the time of this session, we were so lucky to have a practically abandoned beach surrounded only by a few nosey seagulls and the beautiful sounds of waves crashing on the shore.

While the days are still short, the skies are dark and the grass is wet, I just had to revisit this mummy and me photography session from last October in the fields of Downswood, Maidstone, Kent.
First-time parents Maja and Nathan booked a very impromptu, and last-minute, maternity session with me ahead of their little one’s arrival in early November.
“A cake smash is where a one-year-old gets very messy with a cake and a professional photographer captures the moment.” So with my pop up studio and a large roll of white paper to protect the floors, I was ready for all the cake this little one could throw at me!
