From portraits in the sand to portraits in their wedding bands…
I have known Holly, this lovely Bride since we were teenagers attending the same dance school! So, as we’ve grown up and the years have passed by, it’s been a real blessing to have had many opportunities to photograph this lovely woman and her growing family.
I first had the pleasure of capturing Holly and her family in 2020 in between lockdowns (when we were allowed outside in groups of 6)! We met at the beach, a collective favourite place of ours, to capture some family portraits of her, her now Husband and their two girls (Sandy Toes! A family photoshoot at Camber Sands).
Well, since then, H & A have gone on to have another beautiful babe join their crew and, only two months ago, tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in our home town at the Archbishop’s Palace, Maidstone.
It was a real blessing to have been asked to capture this gorgeous couple’s wedding day portraits.
Such is the beauty of a Micro Wedding; I arrived just after the ceremony was due to start (coffee in hand, of course!) to take some shots of the venue and await the newlyweds.
After a brief 20-minute ceremony, guests started to appear and we quickly formed a small confetti line for the happy couple!
With a larger celebration in the works for next year, H & A had only wanted very minimal coverage of this day to capture a few family portraits to mark and commemorate the date that they legally became Husband and Wife!
So that’s exactly what we did! We worked our way through a small shot list to capture a selection of formal photos of the couples VIP’s, before heading into a very small and secluded garden, known as the Palace’s ‘walled Apothecary Garden’ for those all-important couple photos!
Holly wore a beautiful slip-style dress by Jenny Yoo, NYC, with a bespoke and custom-designed veil featuring the word “Serendipity” and the initials of their three children.
I always knew that this would be a stylish wedding – whatever H & A had planned! The attention to detail, the personal touches, the outfits… it was all picture-perfect.
Holly’s bouquet was a dried floral arrangement, hand-picked from her Mum’s garden, which also featured a personal trinket to remember her late brother – keeping him close on her special day.
The Groom’s cufflinks were personalised and their two girls each had a personalised hankie that bore a beautiful message and will, undoubtedly, become a treasured keepsake for many years to come.
Thank you, H & A, for trusting me with your most precious memories once again.
