Earlier this year I set out capturing local family Doorstep Portraits (whereby families simply stood at the entryway to their homes and I snapped away from the pavement!) and after an incredible response, and miles of walking later (on my part), we managed to raise an amazing £328.00 for the St Albans and District Foodbank!
So I wanted to say a BIG thank you to all 54 families that participated in booking a Doorstep Portrait.
Not only did you help in keeping a local business (me!) afloat during what should have been my busiest time of the year but you also financially contributed to a charity that directly helps local families in need.
After making the donation on behalf of myself and those who participated, I was kindly sent the following email…
Good afternoon Lori,
We wanted to thank you for remembering us and for your kind donation together with the contributions from the 54 families. It is very much appreciated.
The demand for our help has grown substantially this year and it is difficult to predict what will be needed over the summer.
Thanks to donations such as yours we have been able to distribute complete food parcels in this difficult period and to very significantly increase the number of food parcels we have provided, including opening a new distribution centre, extending our links with local schools and forging a new link with the Sopwell Community Trust.
Many thanks again for your support.
Regards
Mark Pontin
Trustee
