Family Portraits in the Summer Sunshine
Calling all Mums and Dads! It’s time to get in the photo!
As we go through life we often develop a multitude of insecurities that hold us back from fully embracing certain situations. As a thirty-something female, I know this to be true for a lot of us. BUT! Your children aren’t going to care that the wind is messing up your hair, or that those newly purchased outfits didn’t arrive in time, or that you forgot to put on your mascara! Your loved ones, and especially your littles, adore and admire you just the way you are because you’re their Mum(s) and/or Dad(s)!
They say we only have babies for the first four years of their lives. Think how quickly four years pass by… as any parent to a grown-up Child will tell you, those early years disappear in the blink of an eye. And there is so much that happens within those primitive years that we can easily, and very unintentionally, overlook or take for granted.
This is why I implore and encourage parents to take part in family photo sessions. It’s not just about your littles, it’s also about you.
These sessions are to bookmark a small chapter of your lives for you all to look back on in the future and remember the unwavering love, the innocence of Childhood, and the fun and laughter you shared together.
The majority of the world’s population now carries a camera around in their pocket every single day. And yet whilst today’s technology allows us all to be photographers in some way, we have come to take this accessibility for granted and what’s often missing is the memory and experience behind the 100+ mobile phone snaps.
This is why I have designed my photography experiences to be exactly that; an experience.
Family photography, in my opinion, has long out-lived the realms of artificial lighting, forced posing and awkward outfits, for the sake of a few “nice” photos in an all-white studio.
So if, like me, you truly value the memory behind a photograph, then don’t wait for another summer or another year to pass you by before you decide to make some memories that will live on forever.
I promise you won’t regret it!
